Riding the Bus

Thanks to yesterday's technical problems, I broke my winning streak: I had been posting a daily entry since May 1st.

Trying to fix that, I turned my latest story, which was supposed to be just three short captions, into a longer one. Hope you enjoy it.

RIDING THE BUS

You’ve probably heard all about it. After all, I imagine something like this would be huge news. I can’t be sure about the media coverage it’s receiving, though, because we’ve been completely excommunicated from the outside world.

Three months ago, something fell from the sky over a small Italian village. We still don’t know what. Some say it’s a spaceship, and others think it’s an asteroid. I certainly haven’t seen it, so I can’t be sure, and everything ought to be treated as a rumor these days. In any case, most seem to believe it only killed half a dozen people when it crashed, but apparently it’s been changing the townspeople in strange ways ever since it came.

No, I don’t live in that village, thankfully. Me, my parents and my older sister live in a nearby (and even smaller) town, though my dad was travelling to England when it happened. We haven’t heard from him since, because the event killed the communications in the entire region. Even worse, or only access point to the rest of the country is through the crash site, which means we’ve been completely cut out.

Resources are starting to wane, and only a few helicopters loaded with food have managed to get through the mountains in all these months. Their reports are scarse and not very encouraging. The authorities are still trying to remove the object, but they’ve apparently been unable to do so. Most of the pilots look very afraid and don’t want to explain too much about the supposed human transformations that have ensued.

My 15-year-old sister, Martina, is my best friend and protector. We love each other a lot, and she’s been my support during these difficult days. She brings the most news to the house since she knows a lot of people in the town, though she acknowledges her sources are sometimes contradictory. Her biggest piece of information came one night, when she told us a few bus drivers would attempt to get people out of the village.

This seemed like a great idea. We would be able to contact dad, who probably was waiting for us with his family at Rome. Then we would only return home once the crisis was over.

My mother, Viola, wasn’t so convinced. She was 45 and somewhat faint-hearted. She was afraid because driving out of town meant going very near the crash, and she for one believed all the bizarre rumors about what that thing could do to a person.

“What do you think, Arianna?” she asked me.

We’ve always been a very close family, and that means even the opinion of a 11-years-old counts.

“I think we should go with them. We don’t have enough to live for many more months, and the situation at the markets is worse every day. It’s risky, but so is staying.”

So it was decided that we would try to escape.

The buses departed two days later, carrying much less people than we thought. It seemed that a great deal of our neighbors were very scared to get so close to the spaceship, or whatever it was, while others firmly believed the crisis would sort itself out sooner rather than later.

We boarded one of the largest buses, and yet there were only about 10 other people inside. The empty seats at least meant we could change spots whenever we wanted, which would come useful since the journey would last over ten hours.

But it was only two hours later when we passed near The Zone.

The driver had the good sense not to warn us when we approached the place, so that people wouldn’t panic. In any case, we all did notice we were there, because something happened right away.

Since my mother didn’t know where we were, she had just gone to the back of the bus to talk with some neighbors who were sitting there. I was sitting silently and a bit sleepy in front of Martina. My sister was quiet and abstracted, looking beyond the windows.

I was just watching her when something occurred in the blink of an eye. I felt a shift in my position and Martina wasn’t in front of me anymore. In her place, there was an unknown girl, doing exactly what my sister had been doing.

With a start, I realized the wildest rumors about the crash site were true, and that the girl was Martina. Apparently, she hadn’t noticed anything, and I was too shocked to say anything.

I just looked at my changed sister for a few seconds, trying to compare her new appearance to the one I was used to. She didn’t look much older than her original 15 years. She was in her late teens, maybe 18 or so, and she was very pretty. Martina had been a bit plump, but now she was extremely thin, which was showcased because her conservative clothes had been exchanged by a revealing attire. Her hair was longer and had gone from chestnut to very black. Her eyes had likewise changed from brown to bright green, and were bigger and expressive. Black polish covered her nails and I could see a tattoo on one of her bare thighs. She looked like a completely different person.

That mental catalogue must have happened in a split second, because just then I heard screams all over the bus and I realized other people were becoming aware of their own changes. I also remembered I had felt a shift myself and I was sure I had changed too. I was looking at my surroundings from a higher vantage point, which definitely meant I was taller.

Martina heard the screams and turned away from the window. She looked at me and she yelled too, then she finally must have noticed something was amiss with her too. She looked down at her new body and outfit, and then she started touching her face wildly, feeling the differences.

I imitated her and I decided to finally look down too. I felt faint. I was suddenly aware that my chest was pushing out very far, and my eyes confirmed it. I had breasts now. Very big ones too, it seemed. I could see a huge amount of cleavage under the see-through fabric. Also, like my sister’s, my legs were uncovered below the hem of the short and tight dress I was now wearing.

Martina and I looked at each other in amazement for a second.

“Arianna? Is that you?” she asked. I could recognize neither her voice nor her accent.

I nodded violently, and I felt my larger body wobbling.

I wanted to further discover how much I had changed, but someone was worriedly calling for our names behind us. I turned around, because even though I couldn’t recognize that voice either, there was only one person who could be screaming for us.

My mother was absolute unrecognizable. She was now an attractive young woman in her early twenties, and I thought I could see a certain family likeness to the new Martina. Like her, Mom was now slim and sexy-looking, with black hair and green eyes. She was also dressed revealingly, with leather pants and a translucent blouse which allowed a good view of her black bra, which obviously encased much bigger breasts.

She would have never dressed like that in her life, yet at the moment she wasn’t very preoccupied about her attire. She was trying to get to us as quickly as possible, but she was struggling. Maybe it was because of her unfamiliar longer legs or maybe it was because, like Martina and me, she was now wearing very high heels.

“Girls? Is that you?” she asked in shock when she got to our seats. She also had a sultry voice and the same Slavic accent Martina had.

“MOM?!”, my sister said, while I nodded silently.

“Which one…?” my mother cleared her throat. “Sorry, I don’t know why I’m speaking like this. “Which one is Martina and which one is Arianna?”

“I’m Arianna, Mom,” I said, and I wasn’t that surprised when the same accent came out of my mouth, not to mention the very different adult voice.

”Arianna? But, dearie, you are so big!”

“I know…” I said, and I couldn’t help but cupping my large breasts.

“I knew something like this would happen,” Mom whispered.

She sat at Martina’s side while I looked around. The other passengers were similarly shocked, and much different from how they had been a minute earlier. An old man and woman sitting close by had been changed into a younger and attractive couple, and they were now Asian too. The pretty Japanese woman was looking at her new shapely legs and smooth hands with a shocked expression on her large eyes.

Close by, a boy who had been a little younger than me was now sitting in the body of a very large black man. He touched his short beard and flexed his muscular arms with a delighted expression.

My mother and sister had both new purses instead of their regular ones, and they were both searching for a mirror. I looked to the seat directly beside me and also saw a large leather purse instead of my green backpack.

The mirror I found was small, but it sufficed to give me an idea of how I looked now.

I was indeed a grown woman, older than my sister. I thought I was in my twenties, and maybe around the same age as my mother, if not a bit older than her too. This realization dazed me. I used to wear my thick hair up to my chin, but it had grown longer and silkier. I passed my very long, red fingernails through it, surprised at the feel, and then I dropped it and let it cascade over my breasts.

They were really quite large, at least for a flat 11-years-old as I had been. As I’d noticed before, my deep cleavage could be fully seen through my transparent clothes. Like my mother and sister, I too was dressed rather provocatively. I was wearing a tiny animal print dress and a tan jacket. The jewelry on my hands and ears was large, and I had lots of makeup in my face. Despite that, I thought my new features were attractive. I had fleshy lips and large blue eyes, and like my family, I didn’t look anything like I used to. I was a new woman.

I tried to stand and walk around. Being tall and curvy, I felt completely off-balance, and I instantly fell back on my round butt. Struggling with my heels and proportions, I managed to get back on my feet by grabbing the poles firmly. I strode towards the front of the bus.

The chauffeur was crying and saying he couldn’t drive any more. He had been turned into a cute little girl with blonde pigtails and a flowery dress. She was so small now that she couldn’t reach the pedals.

After a short discussion with other passengers, the driver left her seat to the boy who had turned into a beefy black man, who assured us he knew how to drive now. He also seemed clumsy when moving with his bigger body, but he looked sure enough in front of the wheel. Indeed, he resumed the journey and he drove perfectly until the end.

As for the three of us, were still too shocked to talk much for the duration of the trip. When we did, though, we were equally surprised. We could still speak Italian, though it was heavily accented and we had to think a lot to do it. Instead, we discovered we all felt much more comfortable speaking Ukrainian, a language we had never been familiar with.

After her initial shock, my mother was looking much more relaxed, even pleased. After all, becoming a beautiful young woman had been as much of an upgrade to her as my transformation had been to me. The much prettier Martina also seemed satisfied with her outcome, even if she kept stealing jealous glances to our much curvier bodies. Whenever she did that, my mother smiled at me.

The weirdest thing was that it didn’t feel right thinking about her as “Mom” any more, but rather as Viola. I reasoned that considering our new ages, there was no way she could be our mother any longer. Instead, we were more like three sisters now, and I guessed our new relationship was going to take that direction from now on.

I still felt strange, yet increasingly more comfortable and in control of my new form. I wanted to explore more of what had happened to me, but the privacy that the bus offered was very limited. As I reflected on everything that happened, I dozed off and fell asleep for about two hours.

When I woke up, the new driver was informing us that the journey was almost over. I stretched my long legs and I wiggled my toenails, still amazed at the size of my feet and the red polish. My high platform shoes were almost familiar to me by now, though. I got up to stretch my limbs and I was surprised to see how much easier was to move now. I had adapted a lot in just a few hours.

“How are you feeling, Arianna?” Viola asked me in fluent Ukrainian. We weren’t the only ones who had gone through such changes. The formerly old couple near us had talked in Japanese during the whole journey, and they were now kissing romantically. A little girl who had transformed into a teenage beauty was speaking with a heavy Australian accent.

“I’ll be all right,” I replied with a smile, which my new sisters answered back.

I wondered what my father would say when he saw that we had been turned into three young Eastern European women with a liking for risqué outfits. I shrugged. He’d probably be much relived to know we were safe as a priority.

As for me, I too was glad we were unharmed, but I was also excited about this new body and life that had been given to me.

Father's Day

A sequel to Sunday's story. Since I don't think I'll be able to post it by Father's Day, I decided to do it ahead of time.

Roll of the Dice - Part 7

This is almost over.

Part 4
Part 5
Part 6

Karina thought she heard some strange sounds coming from her sister Dawn’s room. Dawn had been in there for a while with her loser friends from school who liked to play that nerdy Dungeons and Dragons kind of stuff.

Karina was 12, only a year younger than Dawn, and though she was also very pretty, she was much behind in the growth race. She was still short and underdeveloped, and she couldn’t understand how someone like Dawn, who was a popular cheerleader at school, could hang with such losers and enjoy those geeky games.

She opened her sister’s door just in time to see something very weird. There was only one girl inside (the dark haired one... Odette, who was in the same class as Karina), but then she disappeared, apparently absorbed by the board in front of her.

Karina’s heart almost stopped. She ran towards the table and examined the game that was set in there. It looked like a map and there were six wooden pieces in different places. As the girl looked, one of them started to reshape, until it looked like a rough statue of a woman with a staff and long, pointy ears.

She gulped. So this was what her sister and the other freaks were really doing: witchery. Karina would have suspected this for ages, but she had never thought magic was real. But now? The evidence was before her eyes.

So, where was Dawn? She hadn’t seen anyone leave, so they were probably all inside this board… Karina knew what she had to do. She hated having to do this to her own sister, but she had chosen to become a witch. She was dangerous, maybe even to herself. So this was for her own good.

Karina grabbed the board and walked towards the door, decided to lock it up in a box until she could figure out what to do. But she had only made it halfway across the room when she felt something. Karina trembled, realizing she was also being absorbed into the game.

Once she was gone, the board stood in midair for half a second, and then it started to fall down to the floor.

Castle Ivory was in the middle of the capital, itself at the center of the continent. It owed its name and color to the fact it was completely constructed from the bones of the Archaegons, enormous dragons who had roamed the lands ages ago.

There was actually a part of the castle that wasn’t made from bones but from stone, and which was dark instead of sunny: the underground dungeons.

That’s where Karina ended up after being transported into the game. She desperately banged the bars of her cell, but nobody came. She was very scared, especially because her pretty sundress had been replaced by a strange and very heavy dark blue armor with metal skulls and huge spikes.

“What is this… devilry?”

If she thought that was strange, she was in for a surprise when she started growing. As her body became taller and matured to voluptuous proportions, she yelled in fear, yet also in undeniable pleasure. Her chestpiece was getting very tight as her breasts inflated and as she grew taller, her top separated from her bottom armor, as her toned midsection slowly revealed itself while her whole being was raised.

Karina’s armor wasn’t as heavy any more as she gained an incredible amount of strength, and somehow she suspected she was tougher than a normal human woman. Her ears elongated into the pointy one of an elf, and her maturing face was also changing. Her eyes became completely white, yet gained perfect vision, and her hair was getting even blonder, almost white, until it achieved a blue hue. Her dark lips parted in surprise as she looked in amazement at the sensual elven woman she had been turned, reflected into in the dark mirror of her cell.

“What did… what did just happen to me?” she asked in a sultry and dangerous hiss.

“Something that I dare to believe you’ll enjoy,” a voice said behind her.

Karina jumped and turned around. A very old man with a thin white beard and brown robes was sitting on her cell, even though he hadn’t been there before.

“Who are you?”

“I am the Gamemaster,” he said. “I created all of this. The board game. It was designed to recreate my own dimension, where I lived millennia ago. I sadly can’t go there anymore, but this way I can almost relieve it to the last detail… and at the same time allow a few curious human minds to escape their reality and experience another.”

“There’s been a mistake…” the girl said. “I wasn’t playing this. It was my sister and her silly friends. I didn’t want to…”

“No, but you intervened, or fate did… The game always needs an antagonist for the players, and I believe you’ll fit the role quite well… Dark Sorceress Karina.”

She stood silent as he snickered. Then she asked what she was wanting for a while.

“What are all these things I’m feeling?”

“This game is the real deal,” the Gamemaster explained. “That body is not just a simple avatar. You’ve really been rewritten into a new person. You’ve got all of the new feelings that come with that. For one, you’re now an adult woman, and an elf… Your senses are much more developed than any human’s. And of course, there’s that huge amount of magic within you, wanting to burst…”

“Magic?”

“All elves are magic, but not many can perform much with it. But you’ve made a dark deal with a demon, and now you’ve got more power than almost any other being in the continent. Maybe enough to rival the Grand Mage herself.”

“Odette? Wait… how do I know Odette is now the Grand Mage?”

“See? You already can access your new knowledge.”

Karina reflected on all of this for a while. She tried to explain what was upsetting her.

“I feel… bad. No, I mean, I feel very good, but I do feel… evil.”

This worried her, yet it also made her quiver in pleasure.

“I think the game will allow you to release all you’ve wanted to secretly do for a while. And as I said earlier… I suspect you’ll enjoy it.”

“But… I’m just a little girl!”

“Not in here,” he noted. “In here you’re over 700 years old.”

And she felt like she really had the knowledge of all those centuries, though her grasp of it was still fuzzy. The man stood up.

“Will you go?”

“Yes, but you’ll see me quite soon. I’ll be up there at the Throne Room. You’ll find me and then you’ll know what to do with me.”

“But… I’m locked up.”

“Really? These bars can hold you? I’ll give you only one more clue: the soldiers who caught you believe you’re a common killer. They don’t have any idea of who you really are or what capacities are hidden within that body of yours. And remember… it’s just a game.”

And with that, he disappeared.

Karina looked down at herself. She really felt good and powerful, not to mention extremely sexy. Maybe her loser sister had been onto something, and playing a role was actually fun. Well, she wanted to play the bad girl quite… badly.

First, she had to get out of here. Was she really as gifted as the Gamemaster had said?

As if to answer that, an enormous surge of magic passed through her veins and materialized as blue light around her body.

Smiling widely, Karina released it, sending the bars flying away, scorched. She knew a dozen guards would be on their way, but she could take them just as easily.

The new Dark Sorceress was on the move. She was going to capture the Gamemaster and take control of Castle Ivory. Then, the rest of this world would fall, land by land and into her lap.

Roll of the Dice - Part 6

Here's more.

Part 4
Part 5

Odette watched with interest as Mia’s piece reshaped into what seemed like a fish. As she had done with all of the others, she wondered about the meaning of this.

But now she was alone with the board and it was her turn to disappear. She rolled the dice one last time. Three and one.

She moved four spots and landed on the Woodland Dominion.

As she felt her whole self being absorbed into her piece, she remembered she hadn’t locked the room’s door, as Dawn had advised. She wondered what would happen if someone damaged the board while they were inside.

__________________________________________________________

“It’s beautiful.”

That was the first thing Odette thought when she opened her eyes after being sucked into the game. She was standing in a stone road in some woods. She looked down at herself. She was wearing a red and ornate outfit, comprised of a tiny top that allowed full view of her midsection and a skirt. She also had red shoulder armor and wristbands, as well as a choker. Her right hand was holding an enormous staff, taller than she was.

Odette felt faint and she leaned over the rod as she started growing. She was becoming taller than average, but not as tall as some of her friends had gotten. She stopped at 5’8’’, almost the same length as the staff. She was also starting to look too mature for a girl of 12, and she realized she was getting older.

Her body was developing but staying very lean. Adult breasts emerged but remained petite. Her waist was coming in and her legs were gaining definition. At the same time, her tan skin was becoming pale, while her black hair was becoming silver. It was also getting much longer than the cropped style she was used to have.. Her dark eyes suddenly shone in an unnaturally bright green and her vision turned perfectly crisp, her surroundings becoming much more detailed than anything she had ever seen before.

Her facial features were becoming sharper, and her ears became pointy and then started to enlarge radically, until they were about the same width as her shoulders. She realized what she was becoming, and her hearing became as sharp as her vision. Her remaining senses also became superhuman.

The red gem on her staff started to glow intensely, as if she had suddenly developed an unfathomable inner power.

“The game actually transformed me,” she said in elvish, amazed by what she had become.

Despite her changes and her high-heeled boots, she had no trouble catching her balance quite soon. It was amazing to her how stable she felt, but after all, elves had perfect equilibrium as well as senses.

Still not fully believing she had truly transformed into a legendary being, she started following the road before her. Wow. She felt great. Being an elf was surreal. The awareness and perception that came with this body were amazing.

The road twisted and turned through the woods. She walked for a while before she came upon something significant: a chalet. It belonged to two other elves, a married couple, who were currently starting a fire in front of the house. She saw them there, both beautiful and tall, with long blond hair and the same large ears she now had. When they saw her, they bowed.

“Grand Mage,” said the husband. “You honor us with your visit to our lands. Are you looking for shelter tonight?”

Odette wasn’t tired, but it was almost dark now, and she had no idea where she would stay. She didn’t know if she could trust anyone, but she thought it was a better idea to take a chance with these two. At least they were members of her new race. She greeted them back and accepted.

“You honor us,” repeated the wife. “I’ll look for another plate. We were about to start our night meal.”

It was customary among elves to prepare their food and eat on the open.

Odette sat with them and ate silently. The food was delicious, though maybe it was because of her improved tongue.

It was hard to do without revealing she didn’t know much about it, but Odette managed to talk them into explaining a lot of background story about the race and her own new identity.

Elves lived on most of the continent, but they were particularly numerous here on the Woodland Dominion, their first lands. They lived for over a thousand years and they were all wise and magical, but only one elf each generation could master the arts expertly enough to ascend to the rank of Grand Mage. Odette was such an elf, and her mission was to roam across the lands undoing mystical threats. That meant she had no place to call home, as she was an itinerant agent, but most nights she found someone who would open their doors to her with pleasure, such as this couple.

Since elves only needed to sleep for a couple of hours, and since they were powerful enough to overcome most nocturnal dangers, they kept talking outside well into the night. Odette loved her discoveries. The lore of the game was very complex and interesting.

She stared at the fire, lost in her thoughts, and then something strange happened. Her eyes shone even greener than before, and the flames also turned emerald. Odette then started to see quick flashes of images.

They were mostly visions of devastation, though from time to time she saw a woman in the midst of it. She was another elf like her, but her eyes were white and her hair was bluish. Then it was over.

“The Dark Sorceress,” she muttered lowly.

“What was that?” asked the male elf a bit alarmed, but his wife kneeled next to Odette.

“That was a premonition wasn’t it?” she said. “My father told me that Mages sometimes have them. He knew your predecessor.”

“Yes, I had a vision of the future, I think,” said Odette a bit confused.

“What did you see?”

Odette wasn’t completely sure what everything meant, but she knew something.

“A new Dark Sorceress will arise.” Of that, she had no doubt. “She’ll threaten every free land.”

“Will you be able to protect us, Grand Mage? Surely there’s something you can do.”

Odette wasn’t sure what. Unless, of course, she could finish the game. That way, she wouldn’t have to face this Dark Sorceress character. She nodded and the couple relaxed.

“Yes, I think there’s something… But I’d need to depart for Castle Ivory first thing in the morning.”

These elves’ spare room was small but comfortable. After her vision, Odette was feeling tired for the first time since her transformation, but she took a while to explore her new reflection nevertheless.

She looked mysterious and, though not exactly stunning, there was an exotic beauty to her that wasn’t quite human. She could definitely learn to live with this… at least in the looks department. She wasn’t sure about all these powers and responsibilities. Her head still spinning, she went to sleep.

Odette felt like no time at all had passed when she heard someone yelling.

“Help! My wife!”

Instantly quite awake and on her feet, the new elf woman kicked open the room’s window and looked outside.

The male elf was crouched in front of his door, while his mate was being dragged towards the forest by a creature that looked made from smoke.

“That’s a Shadow Wraith,” her instinctive knowledge informed her.

There was no time to lose at all, so she just jumped down the window. She landed on her feet and ran towards the monster. She had left her staff at the room, but she had a small sword on her belt, and she unsheathed it.

The Wraith felt her presence and dropped the innocent woman. Then it turned to face Odette with its featureless head.

“The Mage,” it said mockingly, and then it jumped over her.

Odette quickly pronounced an incantation. Her sword was surrounded by light and a luminous ball appeared over her other hand.

The Wraith was almost upon her, but she knocked it down with her glowing fist. Then, with a quick motion of her blade, she beheaded it. Its smoky body vanished immediately.

“Are you unharmed?” the wounded elf said behind them, and his wife ran towards him.

“Yes, I am! But you’re not!” the woman said.

Silently, Odette examined the man’s wounded leg. It looked scorched.

“The Wraith cursed you,” she said. “But it’s nothing I can’t cure if I treat you on time.”

The elven girl rushed upstairs to get her magical staff. Then she chanted a spell as she passed it over the wound over the leg. The blacked flesh started to subdue.

“What did it want?,” asked the female host.

“Maybe it was looking for the source of the vision. It can’t be a coincidence it appeared right after my premonition,” reflected Odette. “Wraiths haven’t been active for centuries. This is the first one I’ve seen in about 600 years.”

She was sure of that, even though she was only 12.

“It probably sensed the coming of the Dark Sorceress and it was curious to know more. Wraiths need a new leader and that woman might be it.”

“So more Wraiths could come?”

“They will, through every land. We must alert every elf in the Dominion. Protective spells shall be cast; even the simple ones will keep them at bay for now. But if the Sorceress rises…”

Odette grabbed her staff tightly and turned around.

“I must get going. Our only hope is that I reach Castle Ivory on time.”
